The standard assessment procedure (SAP) has been adopted by the government as the methodology for calculating the energy performance of dwellings. SAP assessments or On Construction Domestic Energy Assessments (OCDEA) are the terms commonly used to refer to this calculation method. The SAP calculations are undertaken at design stage and then again on completion of the project, in order to demonstrate compliance with the building regulations.
The legislation was introduced requiring SAP calculations to be produced by qualified and accredited energy assessors for all domestic new builds, conversions, as well as many extensions, large loft conversions & large conservatories.
Energy Audits are fully accredited “On Construction DEA`s”, meaning we are here to support and assist our clients from the planning stage of a project, through to full completion/handover.
We will liaise directly with the designers and supervising bodies, such as building control. Assist in ensuring your project fully complies with the requirements of the building regulations. We do this by evaluating a range of factors that contribute to the energy efficiency of a building. For example, materials used for its construction, the thermal properties of the building fabric, ventilation characteristics, efficiency and control of the heating system, solar gains, fuel used to provide the heating and hot water, renewable energy technologies and the air permeability rate.
Energy Audits are perfectly placed to provide you with a friendly, professional and supportive service
